Anyone have Luck Buying Plants On Ebay?

Postby lgalatea » Sun Dec 13, 2009 7:20 pm

I am sooooo tempted to start buying plants and seeds on Ebay but it makes me nervous. I'm not sure that I will get healthy ones, and that would be such a waste. Of course, I love a couple mail order companies including Gardensalive and Burpee.

I think I'd be much more likely to buy just the seeds on ebay.

I guess if you paid careful attention to where the plants were coming from, and if they'd be passing through any extreme weather conditions, you may be okay.

My brother-in-law has bought orchids through the mail, but I'm not sure how much they'd grown before being shipped. Maybe they were just seeds.

I went ahead and purchased seeds to start with. Since they are tree and plant seeds, I am hoping they do well. We are thinking about ornamental shrubs mainly. Of course, I have yet to see an actual pussywillow seed.

I buy seeds from homeharvest.com, they provide with affordable & healthy seeds along with any of gardening equipments. Although I prefer to buy all my eqiups from local outlets for best prices.
Plants grown from seeds have better quality, longer life period & high flowering so I guess its better to plant seeds rather than purchasing plants from eBay.

I am cautious when it comes to buying certain things online, I didn't know that Ebay sold seeds, although I shouldn't be too surprised. I would personally go with a local retailer it may cost more but you know what kind of quality items that they are selling.
